Louis Jolliet

Louis Jolliet was a french explorer and was a cartographer. He was born before September 21, 1645 and died after May, 1700. He got an education in what is now called Canada, then called New France. After he was done, he went to France, and began working in fur trade. Jolliet was commanded to explore Mississippi with Marquette. They rode their canoes down lake Michigan and then through the Wisconsin river, after about a month of traveling, they finally reached Mississippi. After making a few more discoveries he made the royal hydrographer in 1697.the royal hydrographer in 1697.
