Maximilien Robespierre

Robespierre was a French lawyer, politician, and public speaker during the French Revolution. He was one of the most influential people during the Revolution, he was also one of the most well-known. Robespierre was a part of the 3rd Estate or the Peasants. He took the tennis court oath which turned into a group of leaders for the common people called the National Assembly. He was against the death penalty as well as slavery. He did send Danton and his followers to be executed because their ideas were claimed to be an act of treason. Robespierre ended up being executed because his ideas were getting out of hand and people became enraged.
