Charlotte Corday

Charlotte Corday was an important figure in The French Revolution who was famous for killing Jean-Paul Marat. She believed that the Revolution was becoming to out of hand and wanted to end the deaths and bloody mobs. She thought by murdering the man responsible of the thousands of lost lives, the numerous killings would be quieted. The person responsible turned out to be the one of the main leaders of the radical Jacobins, Marat. So on July 13th 1793, she visited Marat and handed him a list of the names of Girondists. Then she pulled out a kitchen knife she recently purchased for the event and stabbed Marat. Corday was later executed under the  guillotine.
