Scarce Resources: Water

Water is a resource that every human being on the earth uses. Without water, none of us would be here. The average American uses 2,000 gallons of water a day between drinking water, using it for utilities, and using it to produce food, energy, and some products we use everyday. According to a National Geographic study, in 2025, 1.8 billion people will live in “extreme water scarcity.” I believe that a society as a whole should make decisions on how to use this resource. If water is scarce, it needs to be properly spread out between every person in the country, or else some people will get it and others will be left to die. It will effect everyone, so everyone should be included in making the decision.
